Hey Everyone,

We are doing fantastic!  We have 5 days to go and we are at 96% funded with only $450.00 left to go.  So if you have any add-on's such as the cigar box, poker chips, coin or T-Shirt you were wanting to add click on your manage pledge button now.  I also wanted to share some interesting information about the King of Clubs.

King of Clubs - James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok of the Lawmen Deck of the Wild West Playing Card Project.

"Wild Bill of the American Old West is known for his skills as a scout, lawman, gunfighter and gambler. He was a professional gambler who was involved in several notable shootouts. In 1876, Hickok was shot from behind and killed while playing poker in a saloon. The poker hand he supposedly held at his death has become known as the dead man's hand. There are a few hands that were suspected of being the Dead Man's hand but the most widely accepted was black aces and black eights." (per Wikipedia) On the King of Clubs of the Lawmen deck Wild Bill is holding Aces and Eights.

Again I cant say it enough, thank you to all of you for all of the support.

Thank you,

Justin

Limited Edition and Update
over 6 years ago – Sun, Nov 26, 2017 at 12:35:20 AM

Hey Everyone,

Update:

I hope everyone had a great time with their family and friends this holiday.  I wanted to let everyone know that we are doing great and we are at 90% of our goal.  We do have to keep pushing during the last 9 days of the campaign. Lets keep referring family and friends to the project and keep spreading the word!

Limited Edition:

I have had people request for uncut sheets on this project.  I wasn't planning on offering uncut sheets but since I have had requests for uncut sheets I wanted to offer a Limited Edition run for the Outlaw and Lawmen Decks.  I am going to limit the uncut sheets to only 15 units for each deck.  I will also number each uncut sheet #/15.  The price will be $60 US and $75 International for both uncut sheets.  Please send me a Direct Message through Kickstarter and state you are adding the uncut sheets to your pledge. I will respond to your message to confirm if there are any left. Once I let you know if there are any left you will need to add the funds to your pledge right away to secure your spot. This is first come first serve so please act fast.

Also offering Black T-Shirts with the old guns and spade on the front of the shirt.  T-Shirts are $25.00 for US and $30 for International. If you would like a T-Shirt Please add the funds to your pledge.  Once the campaign is completed you will receive a survey to fill out the size of the shirt.

Thank you very much for all of the support!  We are on the home stretch!  I know we can do it!  Please share this link with family and friends:  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/86221149/bicycle-wild-west-playing-cards?ref=35m448

Who was Wyatt Earp (King of Spades) - Update Info
over 6 years ago – Tue, Nov 14, 2017 at 03:47:00 AM

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to share with everyone some interesting facts about Wyatt Earp and provide an update of the project:

Wyatt Earp (March 19, 1848 – January 13, 1929) was an American Old West gambler, a deputy sheriff in Pima County, and deputy town marshal in Tombstone, Arizona Territory. Wyatt is well known for taking part in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, during which killed three outlaw cowboys. This was famously depicted in the movie Tombstone. He was at different times a constable, city policeman, county sheriff, deputy U.S. marshal, teamster, buffalo hunter, bouncer, saloon-keeper, gambler, brothel keeper, miner, and boxing referee. Earp's modern-day reputation is that of the Old West's "toughest and deadliest gunman of his day." (Wikipedia 2017)

We made Wyatt Earp the King of Spades, his wife Josephine the Queen of Spades, brother Virgil and Morgan are also in the Lawmen Deck.

When working with Gonzo on the illustration of the face cards I wanted the cards to have the representation of the real people of the wild west but have that playing card "feel". I am really excited about the final product. Here is a portrait of Wyatt Earp and the Wyatt as the King of Spades of the Lawmen Deck.

Below I included a interesting tale of Pat Garret (Lawmen Deck) and Billy the Kid (Outlaw Deck).

Did Outlaw Billy the Kid aka William H. Bonney (1859 - July 14th,1881) really die by the gun of Lawman Pat Garrett (1850 - Feb 29,1908) in Fort Sumner? It is said that Pat Garrett was standing in the shadows of a room Billy the Kid entered. Not recognizing Garrett in the shadows of the room Billy asked Quien Es? (Who is it?) and Garrett responded by shooting the Kid in the chest. Over the years, legends grew that Billy the Kid did not die that night but that Pat Garrett staged the incident out of friendship so the Kid could evade the law.
